Over the course of a stellar career that has spanned more than 30 years, saxophonist Kenny Garrett is the preeminent alto saxophonist of his generation. From his first gig with the Duke Ellington Orchestra through his time spent with musicians such as Miles Davis, Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, and Woody Shaw, Garrett has always brought a vigorous, yet melodic, and truly distinctive voice to each musical situation. His long-standing pianist is worth the ticket on his own, the incendiary Benito Gonzalez.
