Rated by “Downbeat” as “1 of the 100 Best places to see Jazz” in 2002. Mel Brown, a local drummer who was the staff drummer at Motown as well as the winner of “Best Band” at the '89 Playboy Jazz Festival, holds sway a couple of nights a week.
